Question 1

Why do AI image generators produce grid images?

Accepted Answer

Models like GPT Image, Gemini and DALL-E often return 2x2 or 3x3 composites in a single file. This tool splits them back into individual pictures so you can use each panel on its own.

Question 2

The grid lines are not aligned after splitting. How do I fix it?

Accepted Answer

AI grids usually have a border around the image and spacing between cells. Use the Margin slider to trim the outer border and the Gap slider to ignore the space between cells. The grid preview updates live, so you can fine-tune until the lines sit exactly on the borders.

Question 3

Is my image uploaded to a server?

Accepted Answer

No. The entire split happens inside your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.

Question 4

What layouts are supported?

Accepted Answer

Preset buttons for 2x2 (4-grid), 2x3 / 3x2 (6-grid) and 3x3 (9-grid), plus a custom layout with any row/column count from 2 to 8.
